Morning Musings

It is that time of the year again when one instant you are woken up by a clap of thunder and the very next instant lulled back to sleep by the pitter- patter of raindrops.

 

Today, I was shaken out of my sleep by the rain lashing against my window. I woke up to a wet dawn that appeared so lazy in its demeanor that I was nudged back to curl up on my bed. Our permanent resident, Mr. Sun wasn’t visible anywhere as the horizon was hidden behind dark menacing clouds. Taken his compensatory off, I thought.

 

There is something very sweet, very satisfying about the morning nap which I take immediately after waking up. I revel in the stubborn refusal to get up. It’s my way of telling the world to back off… “I’m the master of my universe”, well, till 6:45am anyways. This daily tussle is something which is immensely enjoyable. Today, of course the setting added to the beauty of the entire situation.

 

I opened one eye to look accusingly at the clock which was inching closer to the dreaded time of the day when I would have to end my nightly sojourns and set off ‘in pursuit of happYness’. However, the beautiful setting was playing cheerleader today and I wasn’t about to give up easily. The tussle continued for some more time. Then, at last, accepting the fact that another day had risen, although Mother Nature was trying to be deceptive, I clambered out of my bed to prepare to don my worldly avatar.

 

Today, however, something was amiss. The household appeared to be quieter than usual. My dear mother, in her pursuit to ensure that I eat well (err…rather well, in fact) usually ensures that she has a symphony of clanking utensils playing in the kitchen. I inquiringly walked into the kitchen only to find a surprised look on her face, “Why are you up so early on a Sunday morning?”

 

With a sheepish smile that stretched from ear to ear, I quietly climbed back into my bed…

 

 

Now I’m not gonna stop!

I know, a lot of you are never going to forgive me for such a delayed post…but thats the way, things have been going on now for me for sometime now, anyways, its back to blogging on Sunday afternoon’s for me from now on !

It is always difficult to get into the groove after waking up from a deep slumber…you need to stretch a bit,  breathe deeply, fill your lungs with air and then take a tentative step ahead. Speaking of stretching, my current job provides me a lot of opportunities to stretch…It involves a of travelling within Bombay, so after being away from Bombay for 2 years,  I’m getting a chance to explore it like never before.

Many of my pursuits take me to the oh-so posh areas of colaba, the number crunching, pulsating Fort area etc etc… Walking below the art deco buildings always transports me to another world. It’s another thing altogether that sometimes I’m in such a tearing hurry that I hardly get time to appreciate the beauty of those beautiful fresco’s and arches.

A simple photo of Ryan Giggs is what I’ve decided to decorate today’s post is because it signifies how I felt after I got my first break! Also, Manchester United won the champions league 2008 in the same week!! So, congrats to the red devils!
