“There is only one word to describe his behaviour, ‘Pathetic’…absolutely pathetic” persisted Arnab Goswami yesterday, describing Vidhu Chopra’s outburst at a press conference.
At one point in time, the other party in question – Chetan Bhagat completely side tracked the issue and egged Arnab on by stating that he had been witness to Vidhu’s distaste for media journalists on more occasions than one. If it was a clear case of deception, Arnab clearly did not see it and continued in his tirade against Chopra.
Arnab is easily the most sought after media journalist in the country today and most popularly, anchors The Newshour - 9′oclock news on Times Now.
His comment , made me want to excercise my lazy fingers a wee bit more. The ensuing channel surfing exercise had me being subject to all kinds of varying opinions on what the anchor of the respective channel thinks about the issue.
Welcome to news reporting 2.0
What must it be like in the press room? I wonder. I can only imagine a big kitchen like room, with journalists running around with their thinking hats on, trying to decide the recipe for tonight’s news.
’Cooking up a story’ has never seemed so relevant! For a news to become newsworthy, seasoned journalists today feel free to pepper all news with their opinions. Trust them to whip up a palatable dish for you everyday! Veritable armies work behind the Arnabs, Rajdeeps and Barkhas and help them serve well seasoned and opinionated news tadka marke to an obliging audience.

Sure, the Pranoy Roy School had a lot of proteges, who decided to fly the coop after they became celebrities in their own right but sadly have taken to reporting views rather than news.
